Lamp Makeover

I made myself start working on my classroom last week.  We are going on vacation next week, so I wanted most of it finished before we go.  I had this lamp in my room that didn't look too terribly bad, but it needed a makeover.  I wish I had taken a before shot.  It was a brown color and needed a bigger lamp shade.  So, I bought some trusty ole spray paint and here is how it turned out.

I used Krylon's watermelon spray paint.  It only took 2 coats.  I LOVE how it turned out.  I picked up the shade at Target.

Here is a little peek at my desk:

It is not yet finished.  I will post pics when it is.  I moved it across the room and the bottom is wrapped in paper with border attached to the bottom.  I used different sized tissue paper flowers in the corner. I took the paper all the way to the floor to make the desk appear larger.

Here is the before:

And this is a peak at how I covered the window above my outside door.  It's just paper with borders attached to the bottom hanging on a tension rod.  I am not sure how I feel about it yet.  I couldn't find a curtain I liked and I can't sew, so this is what happened!  I will have to take a picture at night when I'm not competing with the sun.

I have gotten a lot done but still have so much to do!  I got my tree finished so I will post it next.  Happy Wednesday! {TIFFANY}

  4. *LOVE* what you've been up to so far! I've just used that very same shade of spray paint to spruce up a bench from my daughter's bedroom that was faded by the sun. Enjoy your vacation! :-)
