Modern Play Classroom Decor

classroom design

Hello, teacher friends!  I cannot contain my excitement about this new classroom decor!  It has been a goal of mine for years to begin creating classroom decor resources, and I have decided to finally start making it happen!  My first design was inspired by searching for modern playrooms on Pinterest.  Follow my inspiration board HERE if you want to be inspired, too!  I am all about making my learning environment feel cozy like home.  I think this set lends itself to that.  The modern, clean lines will create the proper learning environment for your students no matter what the age.  I think it also will be great to incorporate lots of flexible seating, too.  The blacks and whites will go with any accent color or colors that you may want to incorporate.  Let's take a look at what all is included in the Modern Play Classroom Decor resource!

I went with white shiplap bulletin board paper to coordinate with some of the printable pieces and border from Carson Dellosa.  The Painted Dots border went along really well with some of the backgrounds I used in the pack.

I am really loving the criss cross trend right now, so I used lots of that pattern in the calendar and number of the day board.  I printed everything on cardstock and laminated everything with my  laminator.  This lamination is super durable!

I attached the movable pieces of the board, such as the months and days, with velcro dots.

Having a schedule of your day posted in your classroom is super important for your students.  Each piece of the schedule chart is editable, so that you can customize it to meet your needs.

I love hanging table numbers on these fun pom poms.  You can find them at any craft or party store.  But if you're like me and your fire marshall doesn't allow you to hang things from your ceiling, you can use the ones intended for table caddies in the file.

Again, here is the criss cross pattern!  I found this hamper on Amazon to hold anchor charts.

I have included lots of supply label options, along with math tool labels.  Everything is editable!

You will find lots of binder cover and spine options, which are also editable.

I attached ribbon to the word wall letters.  I then add the words to the word wall with tiny clothespins.  Hobby Lobby is a great store to find your ribbon!  All 1,000 Fry Words are included in the set.

I am loving these motivational posters.  I just printed and hung them, but they would be super cute framed.  The basket was a clearance find at Hobby Lobby and the reading buddies are from Five Below.

These book ends matched perfectly and were another Hobby Lobby find.

I always organize my materials for the next week on Friday.  This keeps me super prepared for what's to come.  The bins are from Amazon.  You can see part of one of the alphabet banners at the bottom of the desk.  I hung this below my board last year, and it was so helpful for my students and looked great!

You can see one of the alphabet options above.  There is also a cursive alphabet in the file.  The pennants are printable.  There are also black and white options. You can see a number banner below.

I have included book bin labels for your classroom library.  There are student number, levels A-Z, and themed labels within the file, but I did include an editable version, as well.

You always want to have a space to display student work.  You can see one of three student display number sets below.  I attach the numbers to a clothespin.  I am loving the star print, too!  I even grabbed a basket with this print!
