Do you need an easy Valentine's Day craft that can also be used to hold Valentine's Day cards?! Remember the days of the Valentine boxes? Some students had them and some didn't...plus they just took up too much space. I decided years ago to make these Valentine bags in our classroom to ensure that everyone had something to hold their Valentines in for our party. It's easier for students to carry everything home in these at the end of the day, too. Over the years, I have created some different designs for these bags, so I thought I would put them all in one post for easy access for everyone.

First, you need some gift bags. My favorite are the craft paper ones, but white or black ones would work, too. They usually sell these in packs at the Dollar Tree, but I like to just order them. I actually send home a letter to families to sign up to bring something for our Valentine party, and one of the things I add to the letter are these gift bags. Someone is always willing to donate them. I will add my affiliate link to the bags I purchase below, along with the letter that I edit to send home. It's part of my Valentine Party Pack.
My most popular back is the Love Robot bag! It pairs perfectly with the book, Love, Z by Jessie Sima. It's about a sweet little robot trying to find the meaning of love. This would be great to read before you make the bags. I also have comprehension activities to pair with the text if you want to make a whole unit out of it. You can print any of the templates on whatever colors you wish. I tried to keep them as simple as possible for easy student assembly.
Something new I added to the bags this year are these student questionnaire sheets. Have them fill these out and attach to the back of the bags first. This would be great to use for morning work that day.
My second most popular bag is the unicorn bag. This one is just so cute, and who doesn't love unicorns?! I love that you can use any mix of colors with this one, and it's still just so fun!
Everyone LOVES pizza, so I knew this pizza Valentine bag would be popular with the little ones! The book, I Love You and Cheese Pizza would be cute to use with this bag.
This year, I have added two new Valentine bag designs to pair with some fun, new books I just picked up.
Groggle's Monster Valentine is super sweet! Your students will love these monster Valentine bags! You could also pair this bag with Love Monster if you already have that book.
How to Catch a Loveosaurus is the latest book in the series. These dinosaur Valentine bags are so cute to use with this one!
Do you make Valentine craft bags in your classroom? If you make any of these, I would love for you to tag me on Instagram! I love seeing your students' creations! I compiled all of the bags below, along with the party pack if you need some ideas for your Valentines' Day Party. I hope you all have a fabulous February with lots of snow days!!!
