You ladies have won a copy of the Cinco de Mouse-O mini unit!  E-mail me at and I will get you your copy!

My Cinco de Mouse-O Mini Unit is finally posted!!!  I have had more trouble getting the preview file to work.  Anyway, I am giving it away to 2 people.  Just leave a comment below saying that you are a follower of our blog and of my TPT store.  I will close it Tuesday night at midnight and announce the winners Wednesday.  Click {HERE} to check it out!  Have a great week!
What a week!  I am seriously worn out!  I know you all are, too.  We are have some serious summer fever!!!

I picked up this adorable book when I worked the Scholastic Warehouse Sale once, and fell in love with it. It is too cute!

The holiday this year falls on a Friday, so I thought it would be fun to celebrate that day and would be a great excuse to eat some Mexican favorite!  I made a mini literacy unit to use that day.  I am having trouble getting it to upload on TPT tonight.   I will try again tomorrow and let you know when it's posted.  I just thought I would let you know about the book in case you wanted to order it in time for the holiday.

We take the Stanford next week.  My walls look so drab!  I hate this time of the year.

We have to cover up or take down everything.  I always pick up those plastic tablecloths at the Dollar Tree to use.  I put my signs from my Rockin' Out the Test packet over them.  They seemed to help.

Here is how our rockstars turned out:

They were so excited to make these!  They really thought they were rockstars!

We have also been working on synonyms and antonyms this week.  I totally took these ideas from Cara.  {I am not sure how I functioned before or what I even did before I discovered her blog!} Above are our chef hats.  She has a great tutorial.

They had these while they worked. ;)

I am off to bed!  Have a fabulous Friday!

Hello sweet friends!  Just here to let you know what is going on in our classroom this week.  And it has been a long one!  I am not used to these 5 day weeks!!!

I got this idea from Cara’s Thanksgiving post.  We read There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick and made these girls.  We are working on main idea again, so they wrote the main idea of the story.

I can’t remember which blog Rayann got this from, but it was a great activity to show transformations.  I will ask her tomorrow and link back to them.

Like I said, we are working on main idea, AGAIN.  This is a mobile one little one made about Pig’s Egg.

This little guy is doing one of the activities in my Main Idea Mayhem packet.

This is the Main Idea Mix-Up game in the packet that has them identify the main idea in a short story.

I tried this yesterday to help them remember the vowel patterns.  They wrote the vowel pattern in each word a different color.  They thought this was so fun!  {It doesn’t take much, apparently. ;)}

We will be making this guy and gal on Friday.  We have one more full week until Stanford testing, so we are making these to hopefully motivate us all to ROCK OUT THE TEST!  I will let you know how they turn out.  I posted the packet in my store tonight.

We like to also throw an ice cream sundae party with ALL the toppings at the end of test.  We tell them that if we see them working really hard and doing their best, they get to participate.  They are ALL about it, too!  Our school also does treat bags each day with a theme.  So fun!  What do you do to prepare and motivate your students during testing time?  Can’t wait to hear your advice!
